Delhi Technological University declared its first list of admissions

 Delhi Technological University declared its first list of admissions on Tuesday for its 15 BTech programmes. This year the University has adopted the online admission system under which the candidates were required to register online. A total 10,827 candidates registered for online counselling for admission to 1,218 seats in DTU. 

 
DTU has 85% seats reserved for Delhi candidates, while 15% seats are reserved for candidates from outside Delhi. All admissions in DTU are being made on the basis of the all India merit rank in the AIEEE 2011. As per the cutoff released, students between the 562 and 3,608 AIEEE ranks can apply for electronics and communication engineering, while aspirants between 55 to 2,297 ranks can seek admission to computer engineering. Another popular branch is mechanical engineering where students with a rank between 89 and 4,905 can seek admission. 
 
The university offers BTech programmes in software engineering, information technology, automotive engineering, production and industrial engineering, electrical engineering, electrical and electronics engineering, civil engineering, environmental engineering, bio-technology, polymer science and chemical technology, engineering physics and mathematics and computing as well. 
 
The candidates selected in the first list are required to report for admission at DTU with their original documents from July 6, 2011. Those who shall not report for admission on the scheduled dates shall forfeit their right of admission and the vacant seats will be filled through the second list of admissions to be announced on July 15, 2011.
